Join your BOMA Colleagues from across Washington State as we meet with our lawmakers in Olympia and help them understand the issues important to our industry, our business and our professions. First time Olympia Day participants are teamed with Olympia Day veterans as observers and are welcome to just listen and learn. Materials will be distributed a week prior to the event.

Join your BOMA Colleagues from across Washington State as we meet with our lawmakers in Olympia on Tuesday, February 11th and help them understand the issues important to our industry, our business and our professions.

 

After you register, more information will be sent your way via email. 

 

Car- pooling and possible bus transportation can be organized.  Help us reach our goal of 40 BOMA members participating.   First time participants are encouraged.  We educate you on our few issues and provide the leave behind documents along with your own issues note sheet.  Open to all BOMA members! First time Olympia Day participants are teamed with Olympia Day veterans as observers and are welcome to just listen and learn. 

 

Agenda

8:00 am - Early appointments

9:00 am - Check-In begins at Washington Room just steps south of the Capitol Building in the Prichard Cafeteria

9:00 am - On-site orientation and issues updates

9:30 am – Begin team meetings with lawmakers

12-1 pm - Lunch with lawmakers – Washington Room

1:30 pm - Debrief on meetings with lawmakers - then hit the road back home.


BOMA 2020 Priority Issues: (this can change as new information is known).

 

Inform Lawmakers and seek their support for BOMA’s public policy priorities

1.      Support preserving existing Dual Agency brokerage regulations in Washington State

2.      Support C-PACER Financing

3.      Support Tax Increment Financing

4.      Oppose any legislation that would establish sales tax on rents and leases

5.      Support any legislation that promotes greater Public Safety improvements
