October Power Hour - Required Fire & Smoke Damper Inspections - What You Need To Know
Presented by Brad Sharp (TABB Supervisor) and Kevin Gibson (Service Technician), Hermanson Company
A critical component of Fire Life Safety is the inspection, certification and correct adjustment or repair of fire & smoke dampers. Fire & smoke dampers are installed to prevent the passage of flame and/or smoke from one side of a fire-rated separation to another and are regulated in vulnerable-population locations by the Washington State Patrol and Washington Department of Fire Marshalls. Do you know what the regulations are and what you need to do to be compliant? During this Power Hour, Hermanson Company will provide background on regulations, identify who is affected, the mitigated risk & benefits of compliance and provide a checklist of steps to compliance.
Takeaways:
1. Learn the importance of understanding the elements of your project.
2. Learn how to leverage your contractors for help in avoiding gaps.
3. Know when to cry "uncle" and work with a General Contractor.
Lunch will be provided.
