BOMA Education Webinar: Best Practices for Engaging with Immigration Enforcement Officers on Your Property |

Join us for a live virtual webinar from BOMA Greater Seattle and Pacifica Law Group. As federal immigration enforcement agents have increased their presence at commercial properties across the state, many property managers and service providers are looking for guidance. This webinar will provide best practices for engaging with officers requesting access to your property, informing attendees on the best ways to minimize liability and support their building's team. Learning objectives: • Understanding the scope of ICE agents jurisdiction in commercial properties in public, private and tenant spaces • How to best interact with immigration officers • View examples of different warrants and their validity • A robust Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Presenters: Anita Khandelwal, Pacifica Law Group: Anita advises public and private clients and represents them in trial and appellate courts. As the former Director of Public Defense for King County, Anita has extensive experience in addressing labor and employment issues and in strategically crafting recruitment and workplace initiatives focused on inclusion and belonging. As a former public defender, Anita has significant courtroom experience. Anita was a law clerk to the Honorable Dolores Sloviter of U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Judge William Wayne Justice of the Western District of Texas. She earned her J.D. from the Yale Law School. |
