March Engineer Skills Hour Maintaining Seattle's Aging Building Exteriors Speaker: Travis Brammer, Evolution Architecture
Maintaining and upgrading the building exterior is a
critical aspect of the building engineer’s job. Over the past few years we have
seen a spike in significant building repairs around Seattle. This is due in
part to the building boom of the 1980’s where many of our structures are
reaching the 20-30 year mark. Another aspect is the current building boom,
owners are spending money on their existing structures to compete with new
product that is coming on-line. Our session is designed to cover items that relate
mainly to maintenance with some discussion about upgrades. This session will
cover curtain wall maintenance, plaza renovation, new innovative repair
products, and new HIGH IMPACT OSHA requirements for construction projects.
