April Engineer Skills Hour
Seattle's Building Tune-Up Ordinance: What Engineers Need to Know
Speakers: Christie Baumel, City of Seattle

The City of Seattle’s new building tune up regulation requires owners and operators of commercial buildings 50,000 square feet or larger to implement periodic operational tune-ups to reduce energy and water consumption beginning in 2018. This session will help you understand the new regulation, the steps involved in meeting the requirements, and the benefits to building owners and your tenants. Topics covered include the buildings and spaces subject to the requirement; requirements for tune-up assessments, corrective actions, and reporting; requirements for compliance extensions and exemptions; and qualifications for tune-up specialists.
