ASSESSMENT ROLL HEARING: FEBRUARY 4, 2020 On Monday, November 18, 2019, Council passed Resolution 31915 which initiated the process to confirm Waterfront LID assessments. The resolution authorizes the City Clerk to notify property owners of their proposed final assessment amounts and sets a date for a public hearing on proposed final LID assessments. The City’s Office of the Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing on the proposed final assessment roll on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
PROPOSED FINAL LID ASSESSMENTS. The City Clerk will notify property owners of their proposed final LID assessment via letter to the property owner's mailing address as shown on the records of the King County Treasurer’s Office.
The proposed final assessment roll is available online as a PDF and available to be viewed in person at the Office of the City Clerk. We currently expect notices to be mailed to property owners in December 2019/January 2020. A copy of the notice will be posted to the LID webpage after notices are mailed to property owners.
The online LID property search tool that was available during the preliminary assessment roll process will be updated and restored on the LID webpage by the end of December.
ABOUT THE LID As part of the Waterfront Seattle funding plan, Seattle City Council established a Local Improvement District (LID) in January 2019. One funding mechanism among many, the Waterfront LID is a tool through which property owners in the LID contribute to a portion of the Waterfront Seattle improvement costs through LID assessments. The amount each property is assessed is based on the expected increase in value to the property from constructing the public improvements.
