Flammable material, such as a used Christmas tree, placed in an alley represents a potential fire hazard. The video below shows someone lighting a discarded Christmas tree on fire which burns the side of a building and could have resulted in an even more serious incident.

A recent BOMA survey of the managers of over 100 buildings indicates that property owners/managers are significantly under reporting safety incidents to law enforcement because they don’t think it makes a difference. Even though 60% say they experience 7 or more incidents a month, only 20% report that many incidents.
It is important to report all incidents because accurate data is important to law enforcement and policy makers.
