BOMA is Your Essential Resource

Thursday, May 28, 2020   (0 Comments)

Over the past few weeks, BOMA Seattle King County staff, board, committee leadership and member contributors have come together to compile key resources members need to make informed decisions, keep assets operational, communicate with their tenants, service providers and staff, and maintain a sense of calm during these challenging times.

Overnight, we have all had to examine our processes and ask, "How do we deliver value, information and service in the virtual environment?". A challenge, yes, but more importantly, an opportunity to embrace innovation, change and take a fresh look at how we operate. We remain hopeful that in-person events will return -- who doesn't want to see and connect with colleagues at future BOMA events? Our immediate and near-future plans are to deliver value to our members.

Here's a broad outline of resources currently available to you -- a valued BOMA member.

COVID-19 RESOURCE CENTER

We are committed to keeping you informed and are continuously adding resources and documents surrounding COVID-19. As a member, you will receive communication every Tuesday with newly added resources. Please visit https://bomaseattle.org/page/coronavirus to access downloadable content, past webinars and re-entry documents related to the issue.

WEBINARS

Many webinars have been created to help you navigate these uncertain times. We have created our own webinars as well as shared links to webinars from other sources like BOMA International, BOMA Canada and other BOMA Local Associations. From how to negotiate rent deferral with your tenants to effectively managing your remote employees, there is a wide range of webinar topics available to you.

VIRTUAL EDUCATION

Since many of us are working remotely and unable to meet in person for classes and events, we have moved our educational opportunities to a virtual format. Our Lunch & Learn series are now live webinars and the recorded videos are available to view in our Education Resource Library at any time. Presented by our own Industry Partners, this series covers topics important to you and your business. You can also work toward your RPA desigation or CMCP certification, all from the comfort of your own home. For more information or if you have any education questions, please contact Justin Wallander.

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS HAPPY HOUR

BOMA's Emerging Professionals (EP) Group host a weekly Virtual Happy Hour to connect and share ideas. Those new to the industry can network and discuss important topics with other colleagues in a fun and relaxed (zoom) atmosphere. This is a great outlet for emerging professionals to connect and check in with one another. This event is for Principal Members only. For more information, contact Cori Taniguchi.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

As we all adjust to new ways of working and communicating in a virtual environment, BOMA remains dedicated to helping our members highlight their products and services and build brand awareness. We are here to work with you to provide opportunities for recognition and connection. We currently have opportunities available. Please contact Cori Taniguchi for more information.

COMMITTEES ARE ZOOMING

While most members are focused on re-occupancy, BOMA Committees are meeting as necessary via Zoom to stay current on their area of focus and to connect with one another. Committees are serving as focus groups, social outlets and embodying the culture of knowledge sharing. Visit our Committees Page for more information.

LOOK TO BOMA FIRST

Our BOMA Industry Partners are open and ready to help. We have put together a list of BOMA member companies that are currently open for business with the services they are providing. If you have a need during these unprecedented times, look to BOMA first! Access the list here - updated May 19, 2020. If your company needs to be on this list, fill out this questionnaire. Please note: this list is updated weekly.
