Update on the Payroll Expense Tax Proposal in Seattle: Tax on Jobs

Important Announcement: Commercial Rent Control









BOMA has been engaged with Seattle City Council Members on what they have labeled a moratorium on rent increases in certain commercial situations.

On Monday, April 13th, the Seattle City Council voted unanimously to pass legislation that establishes a moratorium on commercial rent increases. It will become effective if the Mayor signs the ordinance. Click here to read more.

Webinar: Lease Enforcement and Collections - April 29th









Landlord’s right to enforce certain monetary lease obligations may be limited by current COVID-19 related state and local orders, however, once those moratoriums are lifted, landlords should be prepared to enforce and protect their legal rights under their respective contracts. Learn more about the enforcement mechanisms set forth in Washington statute and case law, as well as functional considerations in preparing for lease enforcement and collection of lease obligations in the future. As some of our members move to remote working, BOMA Seattle King County would like to provide educational resources that you can access from home! These online learning resources provide an in-depth look into different aspects of our industry and allows engineers and property managers alike to have a greater understanding of their buildings. Seattle City Light and the Smart Buildings Center are offering BOMA King County members complimentary access to Building Operator Certification technical webinars to address continuing education needs in the time of social distancing and stay at home orders. COVID-19 Resource Center: Keeping You Informed









As updates surrounding the Coronavirus, officially named COVID-19, are made, BOMA remains committed to providing helpful resources to our members and other commercial real estate professionals. We have created a COVID-19 Resource Center that includes downloadable content including guidelines, response protocols and slides from past webinars related to the issue.
