I’d like to start by thanking BOMA Seattle King County for providing a scholarship to attend this year’s international convention in Nashville. Our local chapter of BOMA did an outstanding job, and it was great to have such a large representation of managers and vendors in attendance.
To quickly summarize my experience of the trip: it was amazing. There were many factors that went into making this conference trip a success: Developing and enhancing existing friendships. Networking and meeting with new people inside and outside of my market. Discovering the latest technologies being used in property management. Opportunities to learn about best practices and trending topics in the industry. Hearing speakers on personal growth and achievements. And just plain having a good time exploring a new city.
On top of all the above, l learned more about BOMA as an organization, and the governance and services they provide to its members. There is a lot more under the surface than just luncheons and classes. The most important takeaway I learned was that it takes a lot of work to effect positive change in our communities. Each local BOMA team is putting in the time and effort to make an impact on our communities, and its up to us as members to participate actively towards these goals.
Again, thank you for this opportunity. I would highly recommend members of our Seattle market to apply for this scholarship, so that they too can experience all that BOMA has to offer.
