The Golden Dumpster and Platinum Dumpster competition is sponsored by Recology Cleanscapes, BOMA Seattle King County and Seattle Public Utilities. This award recognizes Seattle buildings for their significant achievements in the areas of waste reduction,
recycling and composting.
This year was the 12th annual Golden Dumpster Awards and we are pleased to evaluate 15 commercial properties around Seattle! This awards program evaluates the following:
System - Placement, frequency, and variety of disposal of materials
Success - The actual result of the system reflected in bins
Sustainability - Clear push for building-wide involvement

We also awarded a Platinum Dumpster Award. Only previous Golden Dumpster Award winners were eligible to apply. The Platinum Dumpster winner showed meaningful improvements in waste reduction, tenant education, composting and recycling since initially winning
the Golden Dumpster award!
