2024 BOMA International Conference in Philadelphia Recap

The 2024 BOMA International Conference & Expo, held from July 13-16 in Philadelphia, PA, proved to be an essential event for professionals in the commercial real estate (CRE) industry. This year’s conference offered a thorough examination of various industry aspects, including business trends, sustainability, workforce development, and technological advancements. We had over 40 members from our local attend but BOMA Greater Seattle's involvement doesn't stop there. Local members presented during educational sessions, represented their companies at the trade show, and had 7 buildings competing at the International TOBY level. 

Conference Recap:

State of the Industry: Henry Chamberlain, President and COO of BOMA International, delivered a detailed analysis of current CRE trends. His presentation covered topics such as decarbonization efforts, office space conversions, and the latest technological innovations.

Keynote Address: Michael Smerconish, the well-known radio host and television commentator, provided a thought-provoking perspective on the political and social issues affecting the CRE sector. His address offered balanced insights into political polarization and suggested ways to bridge divides.

The TOBY® Awards: The Outstanding Building of the Year® Awards Gala recognized excellence in commercial building management and operations, highlighting the industry's top achievements.

Educational Sessions: Attendees engaged in over 40 sessions that explored the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of CRE.
